Event Manager (Residential)

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a strategic, highly organized Event Manager to lead engaging resident programming and activities across our NYC portfolio currently totaling approximately 1,500 units.

This role includes the planning and execution of 3 events per month per property. The ideal candidate is both creative and operationally disciplined — someone who can design meaningful programming while managing budgets, vendor relationships, and measurable outcomes. Someone who can grow our lifestyle and events team as our NYC portfolio expands.

You will collaborate with Marketing to align branding and messaging, but this role owns the event calendar, vendor relationships, and execution.

What you’ll be doing:

Event Strategy & Calendar Ownership

  • Develop and maintain a rolling 90-day programming calendar for each property designed to maximize resident engagement and optimize resident retention.
  • Adjust strategy based on property lifecycle (lease-up vs. stabilized).
  • Create a mix of high-impact signature events and consistent engagement touchpoints.
  • Lead recurring alignment meetings with Marketing while retaining ownership of execution.
  • Collaborate with Community Engagement on programming Resident Volunteer Opportunities.

Budget & Vendor Performance Management

  • Manage event budgets by property.
  • Source, negotiate, and maintain strong vendor partnerships.
  • Proactively secure vendor sponsorships, comps, and value-add partnerships to offset event costs.
  • Track spend vs. budget and cost per attendee.

Planning & On-Site Execution

  • Own full event lifecycle: concept ? vendor booking ? promotion coordination & communication ? execution ? recap.
  • Coordinate with on-site teams for space preparation, access, and cleanup.
  • Maintain organized event storage at each building.
  • Personally execute events onsite, including approximately 8 evening/weekend events per month.
  • Serve as a professional, engaging presence during events.

Resident Engagement & Communication

  • Coordinate event promotion through CRM and on-site communication channels.
  • Partner with Marketing for design assets and messaging alignment.
  • Drive attendance through consistent reminders and engagement tactics.
  • Capture resident feedback and identify programming improvements.

Reporting & Performance Tracking

Provide:

  • Weekly planning and pipeline updates.
  • Monthly recap by property, including:
    • Track attendance and gather feedback to improve future programming
    • Manage event budgets and maintain accurate expense records
    • Vendor sponsorship value secured
    • Online review impact
    • Programming effectiveness insights

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Required:

  • 2- 5 years’ experience in event management, hospitality, residential programming, or community engagement.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience negotiating vendor contracts and securing partnerships.
  • Comfortable managing multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Customer service mindset.
  • Flexible schedule includes evenings and weekends for events.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel and Canva.
  • Clear communicator (written & verbal) with ability to interact with team members, residents and vendors.
  • An innovative and entrepreneurial mindset when approaching projects, tasks, and interactions.
  • Consistently and continuously strives to provide a high-level of internal and external customer service and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Highly resourceful team player with the demonstrated ability to work independently while working closely with team members.
  • Ability to lift and transport event materials (25–30 lbs.).

Physical Demands:

  • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive pay: $75,000- $80,000 base pay + annual bonuses.
